Learning on Country.

Our on country approach to learning is at the heart of everything we do at Tiwi College. By exploring and embracing the deep cultural roots of Tiwi, our students have the opportunity to foster relationships with the land and environment, strengthen identity and directly engage with culture.

Each week our Tiwi staff guide and lead Tiwi Friday sessions. These informative lessons complement our classroom learning and include:

• Learning about language, skin groups, clans, history and traditions

• Taking part in cultural dances and performances

• Engaging with community members and elders

• Exploring land through hunting expeditions (learning about, preparing and cooking bush tucker)
