Nginingawula Ngirramini -
A Dedication to our Tiwi Elders

Tiwi College 2023 collaboration with Red Dust role models.

In alignment with the International Decade for Indigenous Languages 2022-2032, this song and lyrics have been made by the students of Tiwi College with support from Francis Kapijiyi Orsto, Red Dust Role Models and Mamanta.

Many efforts have been made to use correct Tiwi language, please understand if there are areas that may not be perfect, we are all still learners in the space of language and cultural preservation. Thank you to all the people who from around Tiwi communities who permitted the use of their visual portraits in this video.

Sunrise Morning Show

Tiwi College was lucky to have Coles, MasterChef & Essendon Football Club visit the College and do some work with the students. Essendon Football Club ran some fantastic AFL clinics with both our male and female students. They commented on the talent that our students showed in AFL!
Coles and MasterChef did a big cook up with the students. The students prepared a delicious chicken curry and spicy salad.

Take Me Home

Our 2022 collaboration with Red Dust Role Models.

A huge Storytelling week at Pickertaramoor to cap off a big Term 3 for Tiwi College.

People who call the Tiwi Islands home often find themselves spending time away from family, community and country. This song, written by Jeffrey Simon with our students captures the essence of being way from and missing home but always carrying the sense of belonging and connection to country with you no matter where life takes you.

TOTEM.
